Golf Course Care
One of the great aspects of our Club that we all enjoy is the wonderful golf course we play on each week. The excellent presentation of our course is something we can all be proud of and our greenkeeping staff are very passionate about.
So it's very important that we all take responsibility as members to care for our course. A few key points:
1. Repair your divots. With the winter conditions now being experiencd, e.g. wet ground, frosts, minimal grass growth etc, it's critical we carefully repair our divots.
2. Repair your pitch marks. Our greens are rated highly not only by members but by visitors from across the country. Repairing a pitch mark is quick and an easy way to maintain our greens in first class condition. If you haven't already we suggest we purchase a pitch repairer from the Pro Shop and ask the staff for a quick lesson on how to apply.
3. Rake the bunkers correctly. Following your shot rake the sand divot and all foot marks on your way out of the bunker. Return the rake to the correct position. If you are unsure how to approach this task let us know.
4. We are very fortunate to have the driving range and practice area facilities unequalled by most other golf clubs. These are the areas to practice to improve your game.
Course care is everyones responsibility. Be considerate of your fellow members by playing your part in caring for our great course.
We are planning another Member Divot Repair Day for Wednesday 13 July, meeting at the maintenance sheds at 9:00am.
We would appreciate your assistance. The job takes just a couple of hours, and you will be rewarded with a coffee and scone at conclusion. You can confirm your assistance by placing your name on the form on the Men's noticeboard. The staff are very appreciative of this assistance in these challenging times.
Thank you
