Well, the Winter season is underway with lots happening on the golf course. The Club hosted a Member Night, and I had the privilege of meeting Sir Bob Charles who is quite an inspiration. Especially at 85 and is still actively playing fantastic golf. He was there launching his book and stayed to play in the Ronald McDonald Tournament Fundraiser on the Saturday.

Suzelle Women’s Shootout

I would like to thank Suzelle in sponsoring this annual competition. Suzelle Swimwear and Lingerie have branches in Hastings and Taradale, Napier. This year we have two competitions one for 18-Hole members and a 9-Hole competition, get your cards in for this fun competition. Great to see a large number of players already entered.

Nancy MacCormick Memorial Foursomes

This competition commences on Saturday 10th April/Tuesday 13^th April. Please register your names with the Pro Shop or put your name on the list in the Women’s Locker Room. If you wish to play this competition on one day (36 holes) you must play on the designated days, please coordinate/book with AJ in the Pro Shop a tee time.

Women’s Round Table Meeting

We recently held a round table meeting to bounce off ideas, in promoting, attracting, and increasing participation and future development of Women’s Golf. Thank you to those of you who attended. Hastings Golf Club is looking at introducing a two-day Women’s Golf Tournament in 2022.

Winter Golf Clinic

SpecialTee Golf is running a “Winter Golf Clinic”. Learn new skills and improve your current ones.

Dates: 12^th, 19^th, 26^th May and 2^nd & 9^th June.

Times: 12.30pm to 1.30pm.

Cost: $129 for 5 sessions with Brett

National Teams Event

Thank you, members, for supporting the Raffle and Basket of donations for this annual Golf NZ Event.

Congratulations to Wishy Poowanai, Rosemary Burns, Sue Agnew and Bronwyn Clayton in being selected to play for Hastings in this competition. This year the event is held at the Poverty Bay Golf Club, Gisborne on Monday 19^th April. We wish the team best of luck.
